connecting through art
you rarely know how your actions effect others. how what you say stregthens those around you. Last night, at the farmers market, i had two different people Come up to me and give me a little thank you gift because of something i did or said to them. in both cases we talked about art and how it effects us. an artist across the field brought me a stone that he had picked up on a hike in nevada, and he shared with me the adventure of his hike. the other thank you was from a father of an 8 yr old girl that i befriended last week. she & i talked about art and drawing. i gave her one of my picasso jasper stones on a necklace. the joy in her face was priceless. the dad thanked me and gave me some fresh honey from his hives. we talked for a long time about the beauty of nature. THIS IS WHY I LOVE ART!!!

Providence Art in the Park
Yesterday I met alot of wonderful people in Providence. Vons Park is a small, hiden park in Providence. It would be the perfect back yard. Tucked in the trees, with a creek running through it. It was beautiful. And the artwork, it was amazing. I love seeing the art work of different people, different ages, different out look, and yet all wonderful. I was blown away by the girl next to me. She did oil portraits right there as you waited. To watch her add color quickly to canvas and turn splotches into a child. I would love her ability. The say that artist's are starving, and that may be true, but they are doing what the enjoy and it shows.
